| The Chemise is the everyday shirt worn under the Habit. Townsend sells an 18th Century Workshirt in a style typical on the Continent for over a hundred years. Our officers wear a white linen shirt while the hussars wear a white cotton shirt. The shirt was closed at the neck with a black cravatte. |
| You should also buy a pair of braces (suspenders) representative of the period. Elastic straps are not found in our period - use non-elastic cotton webbing straps with leather tabs. The Townsend PA-137 is a good choice, inexpensive and typical of the period. |
