The colback is a cylindrical headdress covered
with black bearskin and was only worn by the elite companies of the hussar
regiments. It has a yellow-piped red wool flamme with yellow tassel.
In full dress the colback is worn with red plume and yellow cords.
|
| In our regiment new recruits wear a shako. Membership in the elite company, the the privilege of wearing the colback, is granted by performance in the field for our regiment just as it was during the Napoleonic times. |
