Pelisse

Return to the 7th Hussars Home Page

The pelisse is similar to the dolman, being forest green wool with 18 rows of buttons and braid, and adorned with black sheepskin at the collar, cuffs, and along the front opening and waist.

The pelisse can be worn in full dress, shown to the left, hung over the left shoulder by a length of square braid and a wooden toggle.  Alternately, the pelisse was worn in winter campaign dress, shown to the right, over the gilet.
